Fair Lawn Officer Injured In Crash Pursuing Suspect Into Paterson A Fair Lawn police officer was injured in a crash while responding on Monday to a shoplifting at a local CVS. The officer was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with back pain after his unmarked car collided with an Acura RDX as he pursued one of two suspects across the Maple Avenue bridge over the Passaic River around 11:45 a.m., witnesses said. He was released a few hours later. The female SUV driver wasn't injured, witnesses said. Both suspects were taken into custody.

Car/Truck Event Boosts Scholarship Named For Slain Fair Lawn Police Officer FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Kids can climb aboard trucks and equipment of all sizes to help raise money for scholarships established in the name of a slain Fair Lawn Police Officer Mary Ann Collura at a special car show, "Touch a Truck" and bicycle rodeo. Fair Lawn police and PBA Local #67, along with AAA, will host the April 21 event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Memorial Park (at Berdan Avenue & First Street). Admission is free.
