Thief Diverts Attention Of Clifton Homeowner, 87, While Accomplice Steals Cash, Jewelry A thief posing as a utility worker kept an 87-year-old Clifton woman occupied while an accomplice stole jewelry and several thousand dollars in cash from her bedroom, authorities said. Home Invader Held Elderly Couple, Others At Knifepoint CLIFTON, N.J. -- Detectives believe they may be closer to finding a man who forced his way into an elderly Clifton couple's home at knifepoint. The man in the sketch knocked on the door around 4 a.m. last Oct. 14, then grabbed the 72-year-old resident who answered and forced her inside, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
