$5K Reward Offered In Fatal East Orange Hit-Run A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in East Orange. Gerald Pettiford, 61, was walking when he was struck near 445 Central Ave., in East Orange on May 24, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said Wednesday,  He was taken to East Orange General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. that day. Linden Stabbing Victim Walks Into East Orange Hospital Bleeding, Dies A Union County man who walked into a hospital with stab wounds early Friday morning died of his injuries, authorities said. Quan Williams, 35, stabbed at South Orange and South Munn avenues in Newark, Essex County Prosecutors Office Spokeswoman Katherine Carter said. He was pronounced dead at East Orange General Hospital at 2:17 a.m., Carter said. Williams' death is being investigated as a homicide and no arrests had been made as of Friday morning, according to Carter. Anyone with information can contact investigators at 973-621-4586.

Dr. Frank Gabrin, 60, woke up with chest pain and other symptoms March 24, his husband, Arnold Vargas said.  On March 31, Gabrin woke up saying he couldn't breathe, and died later that day. Found: Newark's Runaway Covid-19 Case Located A female who disappeared after testing positive for COVID-19 has been located, officials said Tuesday. The woman tested positive Saturday at East Orange General Hospital and gave authorities a false name and a Newark address, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka said.   The woman was not at the provided address when authorities responded, Baraka said. "Thank you everyone for your vigilance," Baraka said, noting more questions will be answered at the virtual town hall Tuesday at 7 p.m.
