Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Hitting Deer On 9W
A motorcyclist from Bergenfield was hospitalized after hitting a deer on Route 9W in Alpine, authorities said. The 22-year-old rider's Honda struck the deer on the road's southbound side just south of Alpine Scout Camp shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Alpine Police Chief Christopher Belcolle said. Members of the Demarest Volunteer Ambulance Corps took her to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries to his shoulder and upper arm. The deer fled, he said.

Norwood PD: Rockland Trash Hauler Walks A Mile After Compactor Severs Part Of Finger
A Rockland trash hauler had part of his finger chopped off by a truck compactor on a Norwood street Wednesday afternoon -- then walked nearly a mile in the scorching heat before finding police who helped get him to the hospital. The 36-year-old Interstate Waste Services employee from Spring Valley was on Carter Street, near Old Tappan, when his left ring finger got caught between the trash and the dump box panel shortly after noon, Officer Nick Moltzen said. SUVs Collide In Demarest, One Hits House
No serious injuries were reported after SUVs collided in Demarest, sending one smack into a house. The crash occurred Knickerbocker Road and Hardenburgh Avenue just before dusk Sunday. Demarest police, firefighters and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. Haworth police assisted with traffic control.
