NJ Man Recovers From Venomous Snake Bite
A 21-year-old New Jersey man is recovering at home after he was bit by a copperhead snake, landing him in the hospital for three days. Kevin Murray of Pennington tells Daily Voice he was two minutes from his car on the way back from a sunset hike at Baldpate Mountain in Titusville when he felt a stinging sensation in his left ankle on Aug. 5. "At first I thought it was a bee or a wasp," he said. "I fell down and looked around, that’s when I saw the snake and put things together." Copperhead Snake Found In Montclair Days After Paterson Man Bitten
Animal control officers in Montclair handled an out-of-the-ordinary assignment Tuesday, when they were called to safely remove a venomous copperhead snake found near a Starbucks coffee shop. “We never know what adventure awaits us when the phone rings on any given day,” Montclair animal control officer Michele Shiber said in a statement. “Last Tuesday was rather special because we got a call for a copperhead snake which is a rarity for the Montclair area.” No one was hurt by the snake, but on June 10, another copperhead bit a man’s finger in nearby Paterson.
