New Jersey authorities are conducting a mandatory review of a fatal crash involving a State Police trooper and a bicyclist in Warren County earlier this week. The bicycle was seen on its side on the road's shoulder behind the unmarked black Ford Explorer that hit it on Willow Grove Street (Route 604) outside the Hackettstown Senior Housing Development off Brook Hollow Drive an hour before sunrise on Monday, Feb. 5. Critically Injured Bicyclist Airlifted After Crash Along Hudson River
A bicyclist who was critically injured along the Hudson River below the Palisades was airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning. Unofficial reports from the scene at the Alpine Boat Basin in Palisades Interstate Park are that the 30-year-old bicyclist suffered a punctured lung, among other injuries, in a crash around 10 a.m. Sept. 17. A bicyclist was rescued after falling from a cliff on the Palisades and severely injuring his ankle. A 62-year-old Allendale bicyclist was treated for cuts and bruises after a collision with a van on his way to work early Tuesday, authorities said. The northbound 66-year-old driver was turning into the driveway at 20 Commerce Drive when the van collided with the southbound bicycle on Boroline Road around 6:30 a.m., Police Chief George Scherb said.
