"It was a day of fellowship, reminiscing and fun," said organizer Jason Hawes, Sr.

Coach Ray McCrann was also honored.

Hawes is a 1987 graduate of Passaic High School where he was an All-State quarterback. He also played in the Arena Football League for several years with the New York CityHawks (MSG) , and the NJ RedDawgs (Meadowlands Arena).

The fifth annual game is penciled in for next summer.

"This has been my attempt to ‘Pay it Forward' to the college bound PHS student athletes who have exemplified an overall effort to achieve academically and in sports," Hawes said. "Most of my fundraising is done with T-shirt sales, GoFundMe accounts and concession at the actual game.

"As a graduating senior from PHS in 1987, I can recall the financial difficulties I faced early while attending Southern Connecticut State University," he added.
