Local bands will be performing along the course. There will also be music at the finish line. After the race, there will be refreshments, raffle prizes, awards and more. The fundraiser benefits the North Haledon Education Foundation and North Haledon PTO, to benefit the children of the North Haledon School district.
There will be trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three male and female North Haledon residents, and top three North Haledon teachers.
Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9-12, 13-16, 17-19, and 20-80 and up, in 10-year increments. Also, everyone who finishes the one-mile fun run will get a ribbon.
Race-day registration will open at 8 a.m. It closes at 9, when the pre-race warmup begins. The run will begin at 9:30 a.m. The one-mile fun run will begin at 10:30. The event will go on, rain or shine.
The early-registration race fee for the 5K run/walk is $25, until April 16. Register online here. After that, it goes to $30. Register by March 31 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt.
The fun run fee is $15. This is a USATF certified course and sanctioned event. For more information about the event, visit the website.
