Officers Jonathon Donado and Pawel Jadczak stopped a 2003 Chevy Tahoe driven by 27-year-old Joshua Santiago of Paterson in front of the Hooters on northbound Route 23, Detective Capt. Lawrence Martin said.

They immediately “detected a strong odor of raw marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle,” he said.

A search turned up a zip-locking bag of coke, eight bags of pot weighing more than 1.7 ounces, a blunt, a digital scale and a metal grinder, Lawrence said.

Santiago was processed on various drug offenses and traffic violations and released.
