Ryan D Teschner, 19, apparently had gone to the home of Luis Munoz, 18, Sunday afternoon, Capt. Laurence W. Martin said.

According to Munoz, Teschner came with “accomplices” who intimidated him into going to the TD Bank on Berdan Avenue to withdraw money, Martin said.

Once they got there, the captain said, Munoz told police he “saw his avenue of escape and ran -- only to be attacked punched repeatedly and choked by Teschner.”

The struggled “continued up the embankment into the lot outside of the Outback [Steakhouse] and then over to the area directly in front of Corrado’s Market,” Martin said.

Police found sixteen one-dollar bills scattered on the embankment and three bags of marijuana on Munoz, the captain said.

“Neither party would admit what the money was used for,” he said.

The money and pot were seized and both men were arrested – Teschner on charges of aggravated assault and Munoz for drug possession.

Both were released pending court hearings.
