The gates were lowering when the tractor-trailer driver pulled onto the tracks around 11:15 p.m. at Fifth Avenue and East 11th Street, NJ Transit’s Courtney Carroll told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

It collided with the Hoboken-bound No. 58 train from Port Jervis, damaging two of its three cars — “broken windows and some scratches,” Carroll said.

None of the 200 customers or crew members aboard the train was injured, Carroll said.

They were transferred to the next eastbound train, she said.

The tractor-trailer driver also didn’t appear injured after remaining at the scene.

Emergency responders included Saddle Brook firefighters.

NJ Transit police were investigating.
