Detectives who checked out social media tips obtained an arrest warrant charging Michael Powell with theft, stemming from the July 29 incident.

A stolen gift card from the pocketbook was used the next day at a store in Fairfield, they said.

A surveillance image from the store captured the image of both Powell and a woman he was with, State Police said.

Anyone who knows where or how to find Powell is asked to contact NJSP Detective Sgt. Daniel DeLucia at (732) 441-4500, ext. 7207.
