The driver's head hit the windshield, cutting her, and she reported abdominal pain after the 5:40 p.m. crash Tuesday, Capt. Laurence Martin told Daily Voice.

Detectives were interviewing the woman, who appeared to be 18 and from Paterson, he added.

The vehicle "sustained extensive front end damage with all air bags deployed," the captain said.

Wayne Police Traffic investigators Tom Sanders and Detectives Jorge Barreto and David Collins found no skid marks or evidence of an attempt to avoid the crash, Martin said.

The building was occupied, but no injuries were reported by employees or customers, he said, adding that structural damage was minimal.

The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department responded along with police, as did the Wayne Volunteer Memorial First Aid Squad, which took the driver to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paerson, the captain said.

An investigation was continuing.
