A 28-year-old woman told police she was walking through the Clifton Commons parking lot around 9:30 p.m. Sunday when a man pushed her to the ground, punched her in the face and took her valuables, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken told Daily Voice Tuesday morning.

Two men said two others jumped them after they got out of a cab on Ridgewood Road around 5 a.m. Sunday, Bracken said.

"One of the [robbers] pushed one of the victims to the ground while the other punched the second victim in the face," he said.

They fled in a vehicle with the victims' belongings, the lieutenant said.

It wasn't immediately determined whether the robberies were related.

Anyone with information that could help solve both or either crime is asked to contact Clifton police at (973) 470-5908 or the Clifton Police Department Communications Center at (973) 470-5911.
