TOTOWA, N.J. – Authorities on Wednesday released an image of a small, white SUV that they said struck and killed a 69-year-old Paterson woman in Totowa early Monday evening.
Grace Strazza of Paterson was crossing Union Avenue in front of the local 5 & 10 store around 5:15 p.m. when she was struck by what might have been a Nissan Murano, authorities said.
The vehicle kept going, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle said in a joint announcement.
Strazza was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where she was pronounced dead at 6:03 p.m.
"Surveillance video at the scene captured images of the suspect vehicle as it left the scene," the official announcement says.
Anyone who might have seen something or has information that could help investigators is asked to call the prosecutor’s tips line at 1-877-370-PCPO or email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Totowa police: (973) 790-3700.
