Paterson Man Shot Dead At City Pool Hall

PATERSON, N.J. – A Paterson man was gunned down at a city pool hall before dawn Friday.

Police responding to a report of shots fired at Paterson Billiards on Market Street just after 2:30 a.m. found 34-year-old Dontrell Horne gravely injured, authorities said.

Horne was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where he was pronounced dead a half-hour later, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:08 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said in a joint release.

The release didn’t say whether any suspects were in custody or were being sought.

“The investigation remains active and ongoing,” it said. “More information will be released once it becomes available.”
