PATERSON, N.J. -- A 24-year-old Paterson man showed up at the hospital before dawn Thursday with a gunshot wound that he said he got during a street argument with another man, authorities said.
The victim was grazed by the bullet around 3:30 a.m. in the area of Clinton and North 6 streets, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
An "altercation became physical," during which the gunman pulled a weapon and fired, Speziale said.
Two people who were with the victim took him to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, the director said.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw something or has information about the shooting or the shooter is asked to contact Detective Edgar Torres or Detective Rolando Polio of the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit: (973) 321-1342.
