Paterson Detectives Seize 3 Guns, Drugs, Four Suspects

PATERSON, N.J. -- Paterson narcotics detectives seized two handguns, a 12-gauge shotgun and various drugs -- including 19 bags of crack -- while raiding two floors and arresting four men at a renovated multi-family residence, authorities said.

Recovered, city Police Director Jerry Speziale said, were:

  • 19 baggies containing crack cocaine;
  • 4 glassines containing heroin;
  • 3 baggies containing marijuana;
  • a .380-cal. Smith & Wesson handgun;
  • a Glock 22 .40-cal. handgun;
  • an 870 Remington 12-gauge shotgun;
  • eight ball-point bullets and one hollow-point bullet;
  • ten 12-gauge shotgun shells;
  • drug paraphernalia.

Arrested were first-floor tenants Nahshater "50" Jackson, 23, and second-floor tenants Ramond “Rey” Burgos, 18, Marge Burgos, 47, and Michael Fabian, 19, Speziale said.

Charges ranged from drug possession for the Burgoses and Fabian to drug and weapons possession for Jackson, an ex-convict banned from having a firearm.
