PATERSON, N.J. -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed and a 17-year-old companion wounded on a Paterson street, authorities confirmed Sunday morning.
Both victims were taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center after the 5 p.m. shooting Saturday on Auburn Street, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.
The younger boy died at the hospital; the other was treated and released, Speziale said.
Paterson and Passaic County Prosecutor’s detectives were conducting interviews with the families and canvassing the neighborhood for anyone with information that could help them find the shooter.
