PATERSON, N.J. – Passaic County sheriff’s detectives found 1½ pounds of raw cocaine, a quarter-pound of pot and a customer ledger at the apartment of an accused dealer, authorities said.
Maximo Tavaras, 56, gave them permission to search his Mills Street apartment and an adjacent storage room, Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said Wednesday.
Along with the raw cocaine (valued at $24,000 wholesale) and the marijuana ($3,000), they seized found 32 Xanax pills, two digital scales, empty zip-locking and vacuum-sealed bags and nearly $2,000 in drug proceeds, the sheriff said.
Maximo remained held Wednesday in the Passaic County Jail pending court action on a variety of drug-related counts.
