Berdnik's investigators worked with their colleagues in Vernon to collar 24-year-old twin brothers John and Michael Powasnick of Vernon, Camilo Mejia, 33, of Clifton and three Paterson men: Jeffrey Araya and Maqa Robinson, both 27, and 28-year-old Ricky Salazar of Paterson.

They were watching the sheriff said, as Robinson left Salazar's Maitland Avenue home in on Monday and get into a vehicle holding several small brick-shaped objects, Berdnik said.

They followed Robinson him to the corner of Union and Richmond avenues, where he completed a deal with the twins, the sheriff said.

All three were arrested.

The Powasnick brothers were carrying 30 folds of heroin, while Robinson had 150 folds of heroin and five baggies of crack cocaine, Berdnik said.

Back at Salazar's home, authorities arrested Mejia, Araya and Salazar and seized 250 folds of heroin, 39 baggies of crack cocaine, and several jars and sandwich bags of marijuana, the sheriff said.

They also seized $2,372 in suspected drug proceeds, Berdnik said.

Robinson, Salazar, Mejia and Araya were charged as dealers and were awaiting bail, he said.
