Seung Sohn, 25, fled when detectives saw him buy drugs near 10th Avenue and East 28th Street on Monday, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

Sohn led officers on a short vehicle pursuit, nearly hitting an officer as he drove off, and refused to leave his car before officers removed him from it, Berdnik said.

Sohn was treated at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson for minor injuries and then sent to Paterson police headquarters to await bail, the sheriff said. He was charged with possession of heroin, aggravated assault with a vehicle, eluding and resisting arrest, Berdnik said.
