Jhony Patino-Siguencia, 30, is accused of possessing and distributing computer files containing child pornography, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.
Several months ago detectives received information that someone on Prospect Street in Passaic had child pornography on their computer, Berdnik said. The investigation led to the arrest of Patino-Siguencia, an illegal alien from Ecuador, the sheriff said.
More than 200 files of child pornography were located on Patino-Siguencia's computer, Berdnik said.
Patino-Siguencia was charged with multiple second degree crimes for distribution of child pornography and storing it in a file-sharing program, Berdnik said.
Patino-Siguencia was taken to Passaic County Jail and held on $100,000 bail, the sheriff said.
