Juan Martinez was “in the area” of Madison Street and Essex Street when he was shot around 4:45 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he later died, they said.
As part of their investigation, authorities were trying to identify several people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.
