The board said it entered into consent agreement with Dr. Theodore F. Jasper, who it accused of "engaging in the use or employment of dishonesty, gross or repeated malpractice, professional misconduct, and engaging in sexual conduct with a patient."

“There is no place in the medical profession for doctors who do harm to their patients,” said Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman. “And there is no doubt that a doctor engaging in sexual misconduct with a patient, particularly one who is bi-polar and being prescribed medication by that doctor, is harmful to the patient and to the public.”

The complaint alleges that Jasper and the patient, who he'd been treating for bi-polar disorder for more than a decade, began the sexual relationship in late 2013.

It involved intercourse at her home and at his office, the complaint says, adding that the woman sent Jasper semi-nude photos of herself in "provocative poses," which it says Japser "retained in his private files."

There were also various gifts, including a pin that identified Jasper as the “World’s Sexiest Psychiatrist,” as well roses, chocolates, wine, candles, cards, and a “Victoria’s Secret” gift card.

Throughout the relationship, Jasper continued prescribing medication to the patient "for continued treatment of her bi-polar disorder and ADHD, and was still seeing her for office visits," Hoffman said.

Jasper will remain suspended until the board can hold a hearing to consider further action, the attorney general said.
