Tony "Tone" Alston, 45, refused to pull over for a Haledon officer and drove into Paterson before losing control of the 2012 Toyota Corolla on Dec. 23, Lt. George Guzman said Monday.

Alston then escaped on foot, while police grabbed his passenger, 35-year-old Tania Medero.

Medero was being held on $15,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphaenlia. She also had outstanding warrants, Guzman said.

The vehicle was turned over to the Paterson Police Department, he said.

Police, meanwhile, issued an arrest warrant charging Alston with eluding, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest, the lieutenant said.

He asked that anyone with information on Alston's whereabouts call Haledo police: (973) 790-4444.
