Haledon Man Charged With Hit-Run Paterson Crash That Injured Woman

PATERSON, N.J.. – Authorities charged a 58-year-old Haledon motorist without a driver’s license with a hit-and-run crash in Paterson that left a victim hospitalized, authorities said.

Juan Caraballo was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury and of causing serious bodily injury to a victim while driving on the suspended list, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher.

Detectives hunted down Caraballo after the Friday night crash around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Curtis Place and Ellison Street, sending the 37-year-old city victim to nearby Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, they said

Caraballo remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending arraignment.
