The call brought a group of officers to Morlot Avenue near the bridget to Paterson just before 4:30 yesterday afternoon, Fair Lawn Sgt. Brian Metzler said this morning.

The area had been hit hard by burglaries this summer, and residents were asked to report anything suspicious, the sergeant explained.

With help from their Paterson colleagues, the Fair Lawn officers located 38-year-old Osvaldo Rodriguez.

Inside a backpack and a black bag he was carrying were a laptop, camera, Ipad, electronic reader, cellphone, jewelry and credit cards, Metzler said.

The bags themselves were stolen, as well, he said.

Rodriguez had been released on $10,000 bail from the Bergen County Jail on Sept. 13 following a burglary arrest in Paramus four days earlier (SEE: Paramus, Oradell police grab burglary suspects, thanks to neighbor’s call).

Bail this time was set at $50,000.

Meanwhile, Fair Lawn detectives were trying to determine whether he was involved in other recent area break-ins.
