Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit arrested 28-year-old Miguel Pabon of Bloomfield yesterday with assistance from Garfield police, records show.
Pabon, who is single, is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.
Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said the girl’s mother contacted Garfield police “after her daughter disclosed the alleged sexual abuse.”
Garfield authorities immediately notified his squad, Molinelli said.
Pabon was arrested, convicted and sentenced in Passaic County in 2002 on robbery charges stemming from an August 2001 holdup. He was released in March 2010.
He is due in court on the current charges on Tuesday.
