ONLY ON CVP: A tranvestite prostitute and a local man were both released without charges after giving Elmwood Park police differing accounts of what initially was reported as a street robbery, authorities confirmed this morning.

The man “picked up the prostitute in Paterson and drove to Elmwood Park” overnight, Police Chief Michael Foligno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A dispute followed after they pulled into the parking lot of the Elmwood Shopping Center on Broadway, he said.

Officers responding to the driver’s report of a robbery located the purported bandit — a 6-foot-2-inch black man wearing an orange wig — and interviewed him, along with the alleged victim.

Both “gave different accounts of the incident,” the chief said. “Ultimately, the victim chose not to proceed any further and became uncooperative.

“The incident was documented and both parties were released,” he said.
