French native Michael Yildiz Etoile was released on a court summons charging him with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, destroying evidence and having drugs in a motor vehicle after police said he threw seven bags of heroin out the window of his BMW during a traffic stop.

Etoile had been released on a summons after borough police arrested him Jan. 15 for carrying heroin in the area of East 54th Street and 13th Avenue.

At 5:10 p.m. yesterday, officers pulled his 2009 Beamer over on Broadway, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

Before stopping, Etoile “began throwing [the bags] out of the driver side window of the vehicle,” the chief said.

One officer tended to him while another retrieved the heroin, he said.

Three hours later, they arrested 24-year-old Achraf Bitar on drug possession charges on East 55th Street, Foligno said. He was released on a court summons.

Foligno, who added two officers this week to boost the anti-drug effort, said most of those arrested are passing through town after buying heroin in Paterson. They’ve also arrested locals and earlier this year raided a stash house (SEE: Elmwood Park police collect 700 bags of heroin, paraphernalia from foreclosed stash house).
