Estel Falcon (MUGSHOT: Bergen Prosecutor)
Detectives from the White Collar Crimes Squad worked a tip from the Office of the State Comptroller and discovered that Estela Falcon and her late husband, Abad, fraudulently obtained Charity Health Care benefits with the help of their daughter, Estel, who worked for Accounts Receivable Management & Data Services (ARMDS), Molinelli said.
The cam went on for several years, with Estela Falcon receiving $22,460 in benefits she wasn’t entitled to and her husband getting an additional $18,078.65, the prosecutor said.
“During the same time period, Estel A. Falcon had overseen the application process for her parents, which was a violation of ARMDS company policy,” he said.
A fellow employee handling an application for the Falcons “noticed a document in the file pertaining to motor vehicle insurance coverage at an address in Orlando, Florida and notified her supervisor,” Molinelli said. The document them mysteriously disappeared, he said.
An ARMDS internal investigation followed, “resulting in disciplinary action against several employees,” including Falcon, 38, of Paterson, Molinelli said.
Yesterday, prosecutor’s detectives arrested Falcon on charges of theft by deception and corporate misconduct. She was released on a summons to appear June 5 in in Bergen County Central Municipal Court.
