PASSAIC, N.J. (UPDATE) -- A Lodi man was charged with murder and attempted murder, among other counts, in a drive-by shooting in Passaic that killed one victim and injured another.
PASSAIC, N.J. – A shooting in Passaic left a 23-year-old man dead and a 20-year-old with minor injuries, authorities said Tuesday.
The shooting occurred just before 11:30 p.m. near 37 Federal Street, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis Guzman said in a joint announcement.
Hansel Castillo was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, they said, adding that the second victim – of Woodland Park – was released from the hospital after treatment.
