Arrest made in William Paterson shooting threat

BEYOND BERGEN: Authorities this afternoon announced that they’ve made an arrest for a social media post that warned of a shooting on a William Paterson University campus.

Christopher Geary, 18, of Pompton Lakes is charged with making terroristic threats and causing a false public alarm.

The threat briefly put North Haledon schools on lockdown, while classes and activities continued as scheduled at the school.

Authorities said no motive was given for the warning in a Yik Yak post.

North Haledon police said WPU’s police force made the arrest.
