Arrest Made In Stabbing Death Of Paterson Man, 50

PATERSON, N.J. – A Mercer County man was arrested Thursday and charged with murder for his role in the stabbing death of a 50-year-old Paterson man Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Detectives picked up Werner Bang, 28, of Hightstown Wednesday night in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Deputy Police Chief Troy Oswald announced.

Frank P. Edwin was stabbed dead on Paterson Street just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, they said.

Bang, who also was charged with illegal weapons possession, remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending a first appearance Friday in Central Judicial Processing Court in Paterson.
