While two accomplices waited outside, 21-year-old Jean Barthelemy pointed a gun at the Essex Street BP Gas Station around 4 a.m. Nov. 13, forced him to open the store register and took off with about $800, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Bathelemy also grabbed a pack of Newports on the way out, he said.

All three took off in a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Daniel Martin Margulise, the prosecutor said.

Along the way, Barthelemy began tossing clothing he was wearing “to alter his appearance in the event the vehicle was stopped by responding officers,” Molinelli said.

A squad of officers arrested Barthelemy, Margulise and the third man, identified as Carlos Escarramen, also 20, on Monday.

Barthelemy is being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with armed robbery and weapons possession.

Margulise and Escarraman are charged with conspiracy. They are being held on $50,000 bail each.

Molinelli also announced the arrests of several people on drug charges stemming from separate cases that turned up a combined 50 grams of cocaine with a street value of nearly $40,000.

The most recent occurred last Thursday, when Fort Lee police and investigators from Molinelli’s Narcotic Task Force arrested a pair of New York men following a pair of undercover drug deals.

Stephen Bonilla, 35, of the Bronx and Carnitto Johnson, 39, of Queens had already sold investigators “a 25-gram sample,” Molinelli said, when they negotiated the sale of 400 grams, for $18,800.

But police rushed their rental car and arrested the pair, finding the cocaine in a whiskey bottle on the front seat, the prosecutor said.

Both were being held in the Bergen County Jail on $200,000 bail each, charged with cocaine distribution and possession.

A week earlier, on Nov. 29, undercover investigators from Molinelli’s office and the Passaic Police Department arrested Francisco Rodriguez, 41, of Passaic after two buys, the second involving 150 grams of cocaine worth about $6,300, the prosecutor said.

Rodriguez is being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with dealing cocaine.
