ANOTHER CLIFFVIEW PILOT SCOOP: Mahwah police took three juveniles into custody in connection with a basement fire Wednesday night.
Mahwah police and firefighters responded to Hawthorne Lane in the Ridge Gardens development just before 6:45.
Local residents told them they saw four teenaged boys running from the area moments earlier.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification and Bergen County Police Department’s K9 unit were called in to collect evidence and track the suspected arsonists.
Soon after, the three teens were taken to Mahwah police headquarters for questioning.
