Charles M. Dombeck, 66, Of Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. -- Charles M. Dombeck, a resident of Paterson, died Tuesday, April 5. He was 66.

He was born in Paterson, to Charles C. and Helen Dombeck and was a longtime resident of Allendale, N.J.

He retired as vice president of Corporate Human Resources for Pfizer, Inc. in 2001 after 22 years with the company. 

He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fairfield University, a master’s degree in personnel and counseling psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and did doctoral studies in applied psychology at Stevens Institute of Technology.

He was nominated for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man of the Year 2016. He was the chairman for the National Institute for People with Disabilities of NJ; director, YAI, the National Institute for People with Disabilities; and Former Chairman of the YAI Business Advisory Council.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; his children Michael Dombeck and his wife, Carrie of Durham, Lauren Sacks and her husband, Jonathan of Allendale, Ashley Viola and her husband, Dominic of Wyckoff, Gillian Sclafani and her husband, Steven of Wyckoff, Trevor Dombeck and his fiancée, Casey DePasquale of New York City; grandchildren Cailin, Parker, Brody, Keira, Harper, Remy, Tatum and Leighton; and sister Karen Rieser of Saddle Brook.

Visitation will be held at Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Rd., Upper Saddle River on Thursday, April 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at Church of the Presentation. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.
