It's the first year for the autism program at the high school, too, and the walk was to help raise funds and awareness, according to Passaic Valley Today.

Many of the participants have been personally affected by autism, and the event was even the idea of someone in that group, Passaic Valley Today reported. Amy Pellegrini's son is PVHS' autism program. Pellegrini is also secretary of student athletics and activities at the high school.
