Pet portraitist Gina Stritch of Wayne — who recently held a one-woman art show at the historic Van Riper-Hopper House Museum — will be in the park showing off her art skills.

The Sheriff's Department will also hold K-9 training demonstrations.

Stritch creates her drawings with pencil, ink, oil pastel and watercolor. She came late to portraiture as a business idea, Daily Voice reported in April. Some of Stritch's portraits were also on display at the Wayne Public Library this summer.

She participates in events with the North Jersey Community Animal Shelter, the Terhune Foundation and the sheriff's K-9 unit.

Stritch's husband, Robert, a singer-songwriter, performed an acoustic guitar set of animal songs at the August event, including "Nashville Cats" and "Gonna Buy Me A Dog." He also wrote a song written in honor of Lad, Terhune's beloved collie -- which he sang to visitors including Wayne Mayor Chris Vergano.

He also performed a private concert for a group of adults with special needs from Community Options.

Pompton Plains' Framed Image contributed frame services for the earlier event.
