Van-Riper Hopper House Provides Fall Fun In Wayne

WAYNE, N.J. – The Van-Riper Hopper House Museum is offering family-friendly events to help residents celebrate autumn.

The museum will exhibit “Rock-a-Bye-Baby: Cradles and Rocking Chairs,” an exhibit of antique nursing rockers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Admission is free. Additional dates include Saturday, Nov. 21 and weekdays by appointment.

Family Fun Day: Games of the Past will take place from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 22 Admission is free.

Pumpkin Illumination and Spooky Stories will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. Bring a pre-carved pumpkin, get a free candle and display the pumpkin outside of the museum, then listen to a reading of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Admission is free.

Paint-A-Pumpkin will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Cost is $7 per pumpkin.
