The documentary describes the efforts of Rev. L. William Youngdahl, a white Lutheran pastor in Omaha, Nebraska, to reach out to black Lutherans in the city. He ultimately failed, however, and resigned as minister of his church.
The Library of Congress, in 2005, selected the film for preservation, as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."
