Husband-Wife Duet Tickle The Ivories At Hawthorne Concert

HAWTHORNE, N.J. — A holiday concert featuring a piano duet will takes place Saturday at the Hawthorne Library.

A piano duet by Svitlana and Sergey highlights the 2 p.m. holiday concert at the Hawthorne Louis Bay 2nd Library.

The show features a performance of "A Classical Christmas" and includes a piano duet by husband-wife team Svitlana Syrtsova and Sergey Krivonos.

Syrtsova received her D.M.A in piano performance from the Ukranian Academy of Music and Ed. M. from Teachers College, Columbia University. She maintains a private studio in Westchester County.

Ukranian pianist Krivonos combines solo and chamber performances with a teaching career. His solo repertoire ranges from Bach to Prokofiev to Messiaen. Krivonos received an honorary Doctor of Arts from Kharkov State University in Ukraine in recognition of his achievements and contribution to music.
