New Pizzeria Opens In Little Falls

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. -- Aquila Pizza Al Forno, a pizzeria from Jerry and Sofia Arcieri, has opened in the former Eagle Hotel location (Aquila means eagle in Italian).

Aquila specializes in free-form hand shaped pizza baked in a wood-fired oven.

After cooking school and an externship at A Mano in Ridgewood, Jerry Arcieri built a backyard oven and has been holding parties there for 2 years — perfecting his skills with the dough and oven.

The menu an affair of word-burning pies, but also includes imported Italian meats and cheeses, house-made mozzarella and weekly pizza specials.

Local produce will be seasonally sourced from local Bracco Farms in Warwick, N.Y.

The BYO restaurant is open for dinner four days a week (Wednesday–Saturday) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations accepted for parties of 5 or 6 only.

Aquila Pizza Al Forno is located at 7A Paterson Avenue in Little Falls.
