Emeric, a Garfield native, last year opened the Sweet Queen Ice Cream Truck to bring some nostalgia to parties or events.

"The ice cream truck never came around here," she told Daily Voice. "... I just remember as a kid growing up the ice cream truck came every day. It just brought me back to when I was a kid. I felt bad for the kids they didn't have that same [memory]."

Emeric brings with her more than 100 types of ice cream to parties, nursing homes, weddings or wherever requested.

She used the truck to give back as well, as Emeric said she makes time to visit people going through tough times.

"i can't change a situation but I've directly seen just happiness even if it's just for five minutes," she said. "I visited a family where the mother was terminally ill. The mother commented she couldn't remember the last time she saw an ice cream truck, and she forgot how sick she was for just a few minutes."

Her pink truck became a huge part of Emeric's life, she said. Before starting the business she spent 13 years as a stay at home mom with her two sons.

"My mission is to maybe bring back the classic ice cream truck," she said. "I can guarantee that I can bring a smile and a sweet treat to kids and families."
