Two restaurant owners in Warren County were charged with violating the state’s executive mask order, authorities said.
Stephen Desiderio, 51, of Branchburg, and Philip Blanche, 65, of Washington, were charged with failure to comply with the mask mandate following an April 17 investigation by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Washington Township police said Monday.

Police: DWI Sussex County Man, 28, Drives Into Oncoming Route 46 Traffic With Flat Tire
A Sussex County man was drunk when he drove into oncoming traffic on Route 46 with a flat tire, authorities charged.
Shawn B. Hirschel, 28, was seen driving west on Route 46 in the eastbound lane, head-on into oncoming traffic with a flat front tire just after 11 p.m. Sunday, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.
Police stopped the vehicle near East Avenue and determined that Hirschel was intoxicated, authorities said.

Police: DWI Hackettstown Man, 55, Charged In Route 46 Hit-And-Run Crash
A Hackettstown man had been drinking when he left the scene of a crash on Route 46, authorities said.
Thomas E. Javier, 55, crashed his Toyota Rav 4 at the intersection of Naughright Road and Route 46 in Hackettstown just before 12:20 a.m. Sunday -- then drove away, Mount Olive police said.
Police located the front bumper of Javier’s vehicle, which was damaged in the crash, and sent a description to nearby jurisdictions, authorities said.
Washington Township Police later located Javier’s vehicle on Springtown Road and detected signs of intoxication during his questioning, authorities said.…
Police: DWI Morris County Driver Hits Parked Car, Flees
A Morris County had been drinking when he hit a car parked at a local restaurant and drove away, authorities charged.
Robert Sikorski, 58, struck a parked car while leaving Valley Restaurant and Pub on E. Mill Road in Long Valley on Sept. 8, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.
Officers later located Sikorski driving behind the Krauzers strip mall nearby, authorities said.
During questioning, he showed signs of intoxication, and officers located several open containers of alcohol in the vehicle, authorities said.
