A team of police officers rescued a trapped driver who’d been knocked unconscious Thursday when her car barreled down an embankment and into a wooded area between Route 9W and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The 63-year-old Cliffside Park motorist’s 2011 Toyota Corolla was in a precarious position after veering across the shoulder of northbound 9W, hitting a rock wall, vaulting into a tree and then careening down the embankment shortly before 9 a.m., Tenafly Police Capt. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Bus In Bergen County
An elderly pedestrian was struck and killed by a commuter bus Sunday afternoon in Tenafly, authorities confirmed. The woman, 72, was struck by a northbound New Jersey Transit Bus as she crossed Highwood Avenue, just north of Hillside Avenue, at 3:54 p.m., Tenafly Police Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The victim as taken to Hackensack University Medical Center in critical condition, where responders said she was pronounced dead. The No. 166 bus to Cresskill from New York's Port Authority bus terminal apparently was turning right when it struck and ran over her, according to witnesses. …

Bergen Woman Dead, Girl Injured In Mother's Day Pedestrian Crash
A woman was killed and a girl injured when they were struck by a sedan while crossing a Tenafly street early Sunday, authorities said. The pair were struck at Engle Street and Hillside Avenue by a 2009 Honda Accord driven by an 82-year-old borough resident around 7:30 a.m., police Capt. Michael deMoncada said. Responding officers conducted CPR before members of the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the woman and girl to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, the captain said. : Tenafly Firefighters Rescue Contractor Who Broke Ankle In Roof Ladder Fall
Tenafly firefighters rescued a contractor who broke his ankle when he fell from a ladder Tuesday afternoon while working on a roof. The 59-year-old contractor fell from one level of the roof to another at a Woodland Park Drive home shortly after 3 p.m., Police Chief Robert Chamberlain said. Firefighters climbed up and lowered the victim down in a Stokes basket, assisted by police, Chamberlain said. The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment, the chief said.
