A 29-year-old man was struck and killed by a car on the Garden State Parkway when the vehicle he was riding in became disabled during this week's snow storm, according to his obituary and New Jersey State Police. Kody Lupich, of Point Pleasant, was standing on the grass median on the Parkway after the vehicle he was riding in became disabled Tuesday, Feb. 13 just after 7 a.m. in Tinton Falls, New Jersey State Police Detective I Jeffrey Lebron said. Storm Knocks Power To Hundreds In Somerset County
Thousands of residents in northern New Jersey were without power as of Tuesday, Feb. 13 amid the snow storm that dropped several inches on the region. The JCP&L outage map shows 2,390 had no power in Warren County, mainly in Harmony Twp., Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and White Township as of 11:35 a.m. In Somerset County, nearly 900 residents had no power, mostly in Branchburg (790). Nearly 1,500 Hunterdon County residents were also in the dark. Those residents without power are mainly residents of Clinton, Holland, Lebanon, and Readington. Restoration times varied.

The first projected snowfall totals have been released for a potent new storm headed to the Northeast later this week. A historic New Jersey church was forced to temporarily relocate the congregation after snow from this week's storm collapsed its roof. VIDEO: Firefighters rescued 22 cats in a Hawthorne house blaze on Wednesday. The two-alarm fire broke out on the top floor of the three-family home on Westervelt Avenue shortly after 12:30 p.m., officials said.
