Pair Killed In Central Jersey Crash, Driver Charged: Prosecutor
An elderly pair from Maryland was killed in a crash Tuesday evening, June 13 in Highland Park, authorities said. A Mercedes driven by Abeer Viriani, 34, of Iselin, struck a Subaru occupied by Peter Palmer, 75, of Easton, MD, and Carol Paul, 77, of Easton, MD, around 5:30 p.m. at Route 27 and North 10 Street, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Wanted Man Caught By Central Jersey Police
A man wanted in several Central Jersey communities was caught on Thursday, March 23, authorities said. Adam Zakaria, 25, of South Brunswick was arrested at about 4 p.m. thanks to tips from the public, police said. Police had circulated Zakaria's photo on Wednesday. He was arrested along Route 27 near Finnegans Lane, police said. He was wanted by the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office, Woodbridge Police, and South Brunswick Police for different crimes, police said. Pair Charged In $18K Jewelry Heist After Deflating Victim's Tire In Central Jersey
A pair of New York men have been charged with stealing $18,000 worth of jewelry after deflating a victim's tire, authorities said. The crime took place on August 19, 2022, after the victim visited a jewelry store in Iselin, South Brunswick police said. Tractor-Trailer Flips, Blocks Exit On I-287 Central Jersey:

A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, halting traffic, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 12:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 on the I-287 northbound ramp to southbound Exit 2 in Edison, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. All lanes were closed for a couple of hours, 511nj.org reported. The interstate's exit ramp to Route 27 was expected to remain closed until at least 6:30 p.m. for the truck's removal and cleanup, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. Police are on the lookout for a pair of home invaders who broke into a Central Jersey home and tried to steal a Jeep, MyCentralJersey reports. Woodbridge police received a 9-1-1 call at 6:39 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 about a burglary attempt on Goodrich Street in Iselin, the outlet said. Bomb Threats At 3 Walmarts In Central Jersey Unfounded
There were bomb threats reported at three Walmart stores in Central Jersey, authorities said. The Monday, July 18 threats came at about 3:30 p.m. at 1126 Route 9 in Old Bridge, at the Edison Walmart on Route 27 and at the East Brunswick Walmart on Route 18. Wawa is opening two more Central Jersey locations this week. The newest stores, with gas pumps, are in Edison and North Brunswick, the retail chain announced on its website. Police: Man Shot In Vehicle In Franklin Township
A man shot in a car in Franklin Township was treated for his injuries at the hospital, authorities said. Police responded to the area of Oak Place on a report of gunshots coming from the direction of Route 27 shortly after 1 a.m. on May 16, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said in a joint release. The man was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and has since been released, authorities said. Authorities are seeking the public’s help locating a Bound Brook man wanted by police in two separate vehicle pursuits and a car burglary. Bridgewater Township Police say Nigel Hill, 22, led officers on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle on Hillcrest Road Tuesday, Feb. 4 after he was identified as a suspect in other home and vehicle burglaries.
