A violent ex-con from Carlstadt who spent several years in state prison for robbing a group of tourists at knifepoint assaulted Little Ferry police at their headquarters over the weekend, authorities said. A DPW worker was on the job in Maywood late last week when a driver pulled up and shouted that he wanted to have sex with him, authorities said. Weird, for sure. But it didn't end there. The driver -- identified as Jose Mauricio CardozaRivera, 46 -- had been accused of grabbing a boy the day before in Little Ferry. The Maywood DPW worker told police on Thursday that CarodozaRivera got out and grabbed him by the arm, trying to pull him into his car. An Elizabeth driver caught with a gun following a traffic stop told Little Ferry police it was because he’d been to Philadelphia and was “worried about what was currently happening there,” authorities said.
